Component Design Engineer - 569933 Description In this position, you will be responsible for working on Intel� architecture based microprocessor or graphics processor design and/or pre-silicon validation. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Working under the guidance of micro-architects and senior logic and/or circuit design and validation engineers to implement block level designs, code the design in RTL and fix bugs
- Defining logic, micro-architecture or mixed signal test plans, design tests, execute test plans and debug simulation results
- Performing cell based synthesis of RTL, automated place and route and achieve timing convergence
- Developing or enhancing tools and methodologies used for design and/or validation
- Performing circuit design, simulate, analyze and fix timing issues, perform schematic entry, schematic to-logic verification, evaluate physical constraints for circuit fixes for Noise, EM and others
- Participating in system and/or platform-level validation activities
Qualifications You should possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, and/or a Master of Science degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Additional qualifications include:
- IA-32 architecture knowledge
- Microprocessor and Microcontroller knowledge
- Good understanding of VLSI fundamentals, digital and/or circuit design methodology
- Understanding of physical layout, reliability, noise, power, manufacturability
- Familiarity with Verilog* and/or System Verilog*, Specman*
- Familiarity with schematic entry, circuit simulation and/or verification tools, timing convergence tools
- C++, Perl
- Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills
